This beautifully lacquered jewelry box has 2 stacked compartment. Each is softly lined to cushion your jewelry. This unusual jewelry box has been imported from Japan.

The lid of this wood jewelry box has a bold silver and gold maki-e drawing of a plum flower. It has lots of impact for such a petite box!

Traditional Japanese techniques are used in the creation of this piece. In Japan this lacquering technique is known as "urushi" which is the Japanese name for the lacquer tree. The natural sap of this tree is used in its creation. And the beautiful gold and silver plum flower is applied using a Japanese guilding technique known as "maki-e".
